After Mr. Dakic took the 2013 Title in German Rotax Max Cup, and the very promising final round of the season in Hahn where 3 Flandria Kart drivers took it to the top in 3 categories, it was not by chance that now a bunch of people are changing from Blue, Black, Green, and more towards Flandria Kart chassis !
In Germany, we have to thank Marco for his work, result and good publicity he made ! and besides that, his young age but good view on the future when it comes to bussiness..., we are sure we made the right descission making Marco an official 'Flandria Kart representative' !
In 2014 The factory team inclusing Marco will be present at the Offenback Kartfair (the biggest in europe) where we will present our product's top line !
Marco's job will be driving our chassis to the top, and find dealers and teams in the Germany karting scene !
One of the most important scenes, where ll categories are strong represented... from rotax to KF, to KZ to other club and cup classes !
Also together with his fellow driver Niklas Roosenbach, Marco will run a team.. supporter by a later announced Rotax service point and with support of ourself.. the factory !
Last weekend, Flandria Kart driver Mathias Geirnaert was going to do his 2nd race of the season. due to circumstances, Mathias did only few testing days and 1 race in Belgium Rotax this year (where he also was unlucky, cause of an 'unfair' driver pushing him off.)
In last weekends race : The France (Nord-Picardie) Ligue, there was a starting field of 46 KZ drivers ! (20 Gentlemen and 26 KZ125 ! ).
Mathias was ofcourse competing in the officieal KZ categorie, and starting of from Friday practices, it was clear to us that we were going to have a difficult weekend => Rain, Dry... Rain, Dry .. semi-wet.. and so on and so on...
Saterday there were 2 practices in dry, and 1 in wet.
The wet one we used to learn the Tyres (Dunlop KT13), cause we NEVER used this tyre before ! and the dry one we tested the Dunlop RS1 (slick) which was also very new to Flandria Kart !
On the Saterday Qualify, it seems not to stop changing the weather, and the setup was just a Gamble ! half wet, half dry ...
We made a stable choice of wet tyres, with dry chassis setup !
=> REsult was a P14 out of 26 drivers.. Dissapointed, but armed with a mixed feeling, we where ready for Qualifing Heat, PreFinal an Final on Sunday .
Heat race : In the heatrace, the conditions where wet .. but not FULL rain.. so again a gamble ! and a little struggle on setup..
After a bad start, from P14 to P18, Mathias managed to get back to P12 again..
PreFinal : Finaly dry, start from P12 to P14 .. after 4 laps, Mathias managed to recover into P10, where we was closing the gap to the group P6 to P9 ... when unfortunalty P8 spun, and took Mathias out with a broken front wing...
Final : When entering the 'Parc Fermee' rain drops in ... HEAVELY ! FULL Wet track ! => We take all risks in rain setup, and race commisary decided to give the mecanics 10min extra to setup and mount rain tyres.
After our experiences in Heat 1 and the very few tests on the KT13 tyres.. we where quiet close to perfection !
Not to make the story to long, Mathias made a WOLD CLASS start from P24 to P18 ! Passed another 4 to 6 drivers in Corner 1, and managed to finish the 12minute race in P7 !!
Kristof Dehert :
" The level in the Nord - ligue is very good. tho i must say, without sounding arrogant, when i see Mathias taking his final start, it gave me goosbumps !
Right from the Lap1 on i could see he was feeling good,
We must not forget, that Mathias did not made many KM's in general ! he is natural talent...
Next to this, i was very happy about the BMB engines and our chassis !
Next to all of this, i want to say this race was more than a race for a test or a trophee.. even we did not win or become to the podium.. with the bad luck we had, we seen that there was a potential win, or at least a podium.
The night before the race, there was a memoire of Mathias best friend Umberto, who we lost in a motorbike incident, somehow i think Mathias was supported by him from above... amazing !
No win... but good result, good come-back and much potential ! "
Since the launch of the GEN2 and Smiley3 models in beginning of 2013, It was Obvious and logic that the new Flandria Kart would been build up with FreeLine Parts : such as Brakes, axles, bearings, aerodynamics, and so further more !
With this news-'message' we want to focus on the fact that Flandria Kart stands for quality, honesty, performance, and so much more .
Therefor, we can announce in this fanpage, and later on our website, that from 2014 we make special aggreements with our importers and dealers, that only *Original Flandria Kart and FreeLine parts will be recommended and used on our high quality kart-chassis.
We have seen that some costumers/drivers/teams had tested different brands of axles or different brands of stubs or other aftermarket parts on our chassis, which VERY bad results ...
For this reason, we can mention that our performance and quality is WORLD class, but can only be guaranteed IF end costumers and teams use our high-quality products.
Damien Vuillaume debutes in KZ with POLE @ 0.304 to P2, at the Lorraine-Alsace League de France !
After Kristof (Dehert) and Damien arrived in Mirecourt, it was like coming home for Damien, at the track where he was 'born'.
Thursday evening was run in time, and first slow feeling to Damien in a KZ engines of Denis Him (HIM Racing).
On Friday there was a few heats to test and setup materials, and immediatly it seems that Vuillaume was feeling well in the KZ !
This was the most important task, with the idea of 2014 he would be driving International level in KZ for Flandria Kart factory.
2 BMB engines where ran in, and the Flandria GEN2-KZ was almost completely Original, but seemed to to do the job so far !
On Saterday it was 3 free-practices, and a qualify !
In this tests , engine n.2 was tested but missed a little power in the bottom, so took engine nr1 for qualy! => result pole with 56.000 !
On sunday, there was Heat 1 , PreFinal and Final :
In Heat 1: Damien had to deal with a very bad start due to problems with the clutch lever: he dropped back to P6, and in this short heat race (only 8 laps) he manged to get back to P2 .. where he got hold up buy P1, who was defending his lines VERY unprofessionally.
In Pre-Final: There was the problem with the clutch again, trough to a mecanical miss-measuring, Damien started with slipping clutch ! => the fact was, he need to stop this race because of smoked clutch-plates, but still did a 56.4 while everyone was 0.4 to 0.5 slower
Due to this problem, we mounted engine nr2, who was missing bottom, and after this, we find out, the problem was the wrong head-gasket we mounted on the night job !
This is not regelementory, and ofcourse no discussing from our side!
=> Though, Damien came back from last position to P2, with and engine which was missing bottom power !
Kristof Dehert : "" This was a very good lesson, a perfect test for the coming months, year.. if not years ...
I was mecanic this weekend, and we learned a lot of the BMB engine.. which was allready good, but ofcourse we want to make evolutions all the time!
As were we stand the GEN2 - KZ chassis is acting very wel to any kind of tyres or shifter engines !
Important for me and Mr. HIM, was that our materials are reliable, and competitive for the time being, and as a test for 2014 ! BUT, the MOST amazing experience was the fact HOW fast Damien addapted himself to the KZ ! and the way he makes his telent speak for itself. !
I want to give my special thank to Maximillian Denis (Team Den's Karting) for the very nice photo's ! And the super-fan he was ! but also to HIM Racing, Denis, Emmanuel and the whole team to take care of this project !
I have a lot of confidence for the future, and i think we have worked out a good funamental base for end 2013 and next season ! ""
Pierri, who was moved to Junior, middle of the season, cause a lack of races in Cadet/Mini.. is working himself into the top.
The 11y old Flandria Kart factory driver, who is carrying 24kg of balast to his GEN2 chassis, has not an easy task to fullfill againsts the big boys (13-15 years old), and is sure doing a graet job so far.
Cause of his U13 age, he is forced to race only in Belgium, which in the end is a good learning school, considering the fact that we have a FANTASTIC championship with TaG junior classes (X30 junior) which counts for Nationals as CIK Junior Belgium Champions Title.
On the weekend of 6-8th September there was the Regional (preparing for Nationals) race in Spa-Francorchamps. Without any experience in rain, on RAIN tyres, Pierri qualified a big dissapointing on P21, out of 25 drivers ! Which is ofcourse normal considering his first rain drive on rain tyres.
When Prefinal - time arrived, the track went dry and grippy, ideal for Pierri and the Flandria Kart chassis: AND THAT HE proved, driing a 47.0 laptime (same as P3 to P12) and finished P11, knowing that the youngest driver in top 10 was 13 and 14 !!
-> In Final, Pierri made a fantastic comeback to 6, but that dropped back to 11. As a result of a moved rear hub, which heated his tyres and costed him some places after 6 7 laps ! Which was very unfortunate, as he had a potential top 5 (or more) in hands !
On the weekend of 14 and 15 Sept. there was held the Official CIK Belgium Championship in Mariembourg !
Pierri decided on the very last moment to race this race on Friday !, while everyone was testing allready on thursday !
Cause of school olbigations, it was not possible to decided earlier !
Flandria Kart CEO Kristof Dehert, and the 2 head Mecanics, jumped on it, and prepared the materials on Friday night! working untill 3 in the morning ! => Pierri arrive on the difficult track and had a hard time dealing with the big boys ! Though, we can consider whith more preparation and TRAINING, his laptimes where still very good!, and managed to become 4th in the cadet (under 13) ranking in the Belgium chalmpionship, and 16th overal !
On requst of Mr. Dehert Kristof, we post this news, as we are very excited about Pierri's results. It was not a win, it was not a domincnace, but it was very very good, knowing this talents age, the laptimes and pace he had, and superb result in Spa !
Last weekend, there was the Final round of the German Rotax Max Championship in Hahn.
Flandria Kart and HIM Racing (Flandria Kart France) where heading to Hahn to use this race as a test, and to support Marco Dakic, who was allready leading the championship!
Next to Marco, 2 occasional topdrivers where going to use the GEN2 chassis in their categorie : DD2 driver Sacha Haida, and Rotax World driver Niklas Rosenbach. who both never tested the chassis untill saterday !
Mixed Feelings in qualifies, when Marco, who had the championship title so close, qualifed only 16th ! While Haida took P6 and Rosenbach P3 in their categories !
When first race came, Marco decided to copy Rosenbach's setup, which seemed to be almost perfect. And which resulted in the return from P16 to P7 ! => Which FINISHED the job! and confirmed Marco to be 2013 German Rotax Cup Champion !
While the Final was just a game, and sort of speaking : some showlaps !
In the meantime, did the team make a little mistake with Roosenbachs gear ratio, wherefor he dropped back from P3 to P7.
which was remained to previous for Final , and he returned to P4 with a VERY good and promising pace !
In DD2, we could enjoy Sacha Haida's strong mind, who also surprie HIM Racing and Flandria Kart CEO Kristof, with a strong return from P6 to P2, and a fight for P1.
Counting in the fact the ratio of his DD2 kart was wrongly chosen, there was a potiential win !
K. Dehert : "" It was a fantastic experience to work with drivers who we only know from seeing or speaking. 1 thing i was hoping to take, was the Championship title with Marco ! And make some good tests on Saterday with Damien, and than make some promo with Sacha and Niklas.
In the end, we ended up with 2 podiums in World DD2 and World Rotax, and a German Champions - title !!
We can not ask for more !
I will have to thank Marco and his father, and the JLC team for making this project work. Than i will have to thank Niklas Rosenbach and his father for driving our material this race without ANY testing or preparation, and same for Sacha Haida, His dad, and Baral Racing, who all worked hard this weekend.
Further more i HAVE to say, that the basic of this performance, was layd by HIM Racing, and Damien Vuillaume, and the knowlegde they put in the Flandria Competition Kart GEN2 chassis ! ""
Flandria Kart's goals for 2014 in Germany from here on..
Is to find a good, strong and stabil importer, while there are some graet plans on the way, for the above mentioned drivers !
Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
Last weekend's race in Western Finland was a very special race for our Finland importer !
Arriving on Saterday, both drivers (Miska in Cadet and Veeti in Raket) where fast, and very promising pace was being showen ...
Knowing that both of them could been champion in their categories , it was fingers crossed :
On sunday morning it suddenly seemd to be raining!
While the team had NEVER tested in Rain on the Flandria before, it was not easy ! => The Cadet driver needed all day to find a good setup, and addapt to the chassis, but Managed to finish P2 in Final ! => Wherefrom he unfortunatly took P2 in the championship instead of Winning it! STILL congrats to this talent and the team !
Raket driver Veeti, was addapting fast to rain, and was competitive from beginning. which resulted in a WIN, and a Championship overall WIN !
Next race for UnReal Motorsport is in 2 weeks, for the National Championship, where all TOP drivers from Finland come together and meet up to become National Champion !
UnrealMotorsport ... REAL results !
After UM became our importer/dealer in Finland last week, and after a 1 day test , they where immediatly ready to enter a the race in qualify round for Nationals in Finland ! Unreal Mts. entered 2 drivers ; Miska in 60cc cadet class (7 to 10y), and Veeti in 85cc (10 to 12y).
The races where held on saterday, and the result was simpel for Miska in the youngest class ! HE debut on our chassis, took pole, and won the race ! For Veeti, it was P2 in qualif, and n Final manage to attack P1, and seized an engine in middle of the race ! A big shame as he came so far ! But afterall a nice WIN for Miska, and very good and, close-to-win, job from Veeti.
On sunday, the UnrealMts team went from 1 track to another region race 200km of the road ! Where they took part at a track, where both driver NEVER have tested and had only 8 min of warm up in the morning. Miska took P2 with 0.05sec in Qualif, and Veeti managed a P8 (with still engine troubles).
In total Miska took another podium with P2 in his class, and Veeti needed to give up with engine problems, who had started the day before ! But again Veeti was only 0.1 away from P1 on a foreign track !
We are very proud and thankfull to the UnrealMotorsport's work on our chassis !
We hope to take the Finisch title in both classes !
Stay tuned !
This weekend, was the moment of truth !
Flandria KArt's GEN2 model was going to be put to the TEST, Germany Privateer Marco Dakic, and his father (mecanic), leader in the cup/championship, were swtiched to Flandria Kart 2 weeks ago.
First testing days on the track of Liedolsheim gave Dakic a lot of confidence.
This weekends races was going to be very exciting.
However Marco had engine problems, he managed to Take P3 in Qualify, and WIN PreFinal !
After all, Marco managed to bring his Rotax Powered Flandria Kart GEN2 into a Final, where he dominated untill finish...
..... AND WIN WITH A 5 SECONDS LEAD !
After this fantastic job, we want to stay with 2 feet on the ground, but with such a talent on our material... A nice advantage in the championship standings, and the amazing work of mecanics and Marco's manager, we can quietly hope and have the Germany title on our minds !!! Fingers crossed ! and off to NEXT Round !
Thanks for the fantastic job guys!
All down, in Tazmania-Australia, where the weather (should be) good all the time, Flandria Kart privateers William Reeve (9y old cadet class) and his mecanic(father) Paul Reeve, were competing in the Tazmnia's important race : Tazmania's Rising Star championship.
We would like to make a full view article about this young talents race, and how fantastic it was ... and how we are happy to prove our chassis... and a lot of bla bla bla...
NOW, let just say the numbers will speak for it self :
-Qualify : POLE
-Heats (dry condition) : WIN, WIN, 3th (because of a spin during an overtake),
-PreFinal : WIN
-Final (FULL RAIN conditions) : WIN with a 17-seconds LEAD to P2 !!
No more words to say !
The whole factory team, family and supporters thanking you guys for the hard work over there !
Fantastic job! Keep it up !
This weekend was a busy weekend for several Flandria Kart teams and drivers.
First of alll we have to make the review for the unlucky driver Maxence Laurent.
The French privateer, who started karting only few years ago with the HIM Racing team on 'the green chassis', switched this year to Flandria Kart, and managed to win a Prefinal and an overal win in the Ligue for Region Lorraine-Alsace's last round.
This promising result was a good reason for the young driver to enter the Coupe Du France, where for he was qualified.
In master there was another HIM Racing driver who never had tried the Flandria chassis, but choose to use our chassis just last week !
This driver, Lucky Pion, competing in Masters (30+) managed to getting the chassis known, and placed him self on a nice and competitive 12th Position.
Another WIN, and a DOUBLE one ! For HIM Racing in Rotax Senior for the 4th round of the France Championship for Ligue Lorraine-Alsace !
HIM Racing, FlandriaKart's dealer, development partner, and Rotax Engine supplier, did it again, 3th victory in a row in the ligue's !
It was a special weekend, cause of the fact that Maxence Laurent (HIM driver) swapped chassis from ****-Kart to Flandria Kart ... and would be joining team-mate and official Flandria Factory driver Damien Vuillaume !
All eyes on them on Friday practice !
Some reviews and stats along the weekend :
- Friday Practice :
* After a day full of testing, and the 2 Flandrias being the
fastest around the track, Mr. Denis HIM (team boss of HIM)
called the Flandria Kart Factory to mention than they had an
incident and that one the there chassis was bent !
(a lot of work to get all material ready for Saterday qualify !)
- Qualify on Saterday :
* After a lot of work on reparing chassis, both Damien and Maxence managed to ualify TOP 3! P2 and P3 to be correct..
(with a top 3 all in 0.04 sec !!!)
- Sunday Races :
* Heat : Damien fight for P1, while Maxence battled for P3 !
=> To make a long story short, Damien got pushed, and even got a penalty, while foto's and movies show he was handling fair and correct !
* PreFinal : Maxence took a convincing VICTORY, while Damien needed to quit again, cause of a broken con-rod-bearing !
* FINAL : and from hearing everyone talking about, should have been an amazing race ! the 2 HIM racing drivers steel the show:
While Maxence was pulling away from the field in his brand new Flandria Kart GEN2, and his 'special' (joke)green racing suit... Damien was pulling up from P17 ....
With only a FEW laps to go, Damien stranded on P2 and was hunting on P1 ... Correct, still Maxence Laurent ... his teammate.
Damien was slightly faster, with 0.1 of a second, and with an overall win of the day allready in hands, Maxence did not defended his P1 , and let Damien slip away !
Than, it was a mather of waiting ... but not for long...
HIM Racing - FlandriaKart - Damien&Maxence : P1 and P2 !
We want to thank Mr. HIM, the drivers, and the whole team for this good result ! (all results can be found on MyLaps.com)
