DKM, last round in Genk, Belgium '03/10/2014 - 05/10/2014
A total of 49 drivers showed up to race in the KZ 2 category. Friday's practice started on a very positive note, our speed thru the whole day felt very good. Although some parts of the four sessions we were missing a little to much from the very fastest drivers. But it was nothing to worry about.
Saturday had a promising begining the first (and only) official timed practice was not too bad. In my group I had the 8:th time with a 51:692 and quickest time was driven by the german Maik Siebecke managing 51:368, out of the 49 drivers I found myself at 14:th position. Now the qualifying practice was closing in and this is looking to be one of my best so far in KZ at this very high level of karting. Honestly I was dissapointed, it felt better than what the result showed. The time 51:632 was enough to gain the 19:th position, quickest of us all was the Dutchman Jorrit Pex with 51.058. It could have been better, we could have gained a few more postions if the carburation setting had been a bit different.
After Damien's very strong season in Euro's, with a lot of bad luck, going into the mainstream and only our partners helping him trying to recieve his goal, he lost a podium-position 2 times in the Euro DD2, but also lost 2 top 7 finishes cause of penalties which we don't aggree with up untill today !
We could say Damien had a strong season, Flandria Kart worked hard, and we could have been on the top of the list in the Rotax Euro's.
Ofcourse, racing is racing !
SEATS available !!
For the first time in 2 years of chassis developing we believe that our chassis are competitive enough to offer open seats and materials .
With an eye on 2015 - where Flandria Competition Kart is looking for a satellite 'Rotax team' - we will race and coorporate with proper enginebuilders and team-up to compete in 1 of the biggest races of the year ! The Rotax International Open !
4 Drivers on a Flandria Kart chassis were present at the last round of the Rotax Euros !
First ever international experience for Ben Scott in Junior, the quiet uneperienced Maxence Laurent in Senior, Pearce and Vuillaume as usual in the pro category : DD2 !
The qualifaction sessions began smooth, with Vuillaume starting on 9th and Pearce 11th !
The heats went partly as planned ! Pearce managed to qualify 7th in an almost full professional top10 ! while Damien Vuillaume qualified 5th ! Even when both got hold up trough the heats for at least 1 tecnical issue.
